Ok, it's still December 30th and here's my post for October.  After leaving San Francisco I stopped for a few days in Lake Havasu City, Arizona where the London Bridge is located.  Ooops, no pictures.  Then headed to Deming, New Mexico where I stayed for 3 weeks.  A singles RVing group has its headquarters campground in Deming.  The group is called LoW's (Loners on Wheels) and has many chapters scattered throughout the US.  I was there for their annual rally.  Most (98 percent) of the members are women traveling alone in every type of vehicle imaginable: motor-homes, campers, 5th wheelers, etc.  I really enjoyed my time with these folks and made some wonderful friendships.  There is something going on each and every day.  Pot lucks, card playing, going to movies, going out to eat (often!), geocaching, hiking, line dancing, campfires, museums, shopping, crafts.  Many of them travel together in caravans which appeals to me.  There's never a dull moment.  There are other singles groups as well taking group trips all around the country.  One group just did the entire Route 66, stopping all along the way discovering museums and learning of its history.  There's another group who are going to Alaska on a 3 month trip.  Another group is traveling for 6 weeksthru Civil War territory.

At every other campground I've stayed in most of the RVers are couples.  They are all very friendly but I nevertheless feel like a 5th wheel.  And I'm constantly aware that I'm not part of a couple anymore.  I just have more fun with a bunch of single women.

Rocky loves this place at the LoW's campground.

I like it too!

Every Tuesday the LoW's carpool into Palomas, Mexico to have lunch at "The Pink Store".  Grreat food, good music, and fun people.

The LoW's are ALL ABOUT HUGS!!

The gals ham it up doing the "Macarayna".

Here's my new fold-up electric scooter.  I've nicknamed it my "HARDLY Davidson"!!  Bungeed a basket for Rocky.

The campground has a family of roadrunners living here.  Notice the Daddy sitting on the brick.  Sure does drive Rocky crazy trying to catch one!!

Looks like Rocky is not happy about leaving the LoW's either.

And that just about wraps up October, 2011.

Today really is December 30 but I'm still playing catch-up so this post is all about September happenings.

My goal was to spend a few weeks in San Francisco, CA with my son Brady and his family.  I can't be in a rush while traveling, too much stress.  So I make lots of stops along the way.

For Labor Day I picked up my best friend Claudia, and we drove down to Galveston Beach.  While there I had a fender-bender in the Walmart parking lot.  See, there was this invisible concrete post that jumped up and wrestled with the front left corner of my Honda CRV.  The post won.  Claudia ran back inside and bought duct tape so we could at least reattach all of the dangling pieces enough to drive back to the RV campground.  That was my first time ever to crunch a vehicle since I started driving at age 15.  Not a bad record.
Walking on the beach is good medicine.
It's wonderful being retired and not having a schedule because I had to spend the next week in Houston while the car was repaired.  Visited with old friends and neighbors while waiting.  Then headed west and arrived in San Francisco on September 20.

Stayed at the SF RV Resort Campground on the edge of a 60' cliff overlooking the ocean in Pacifica, CA.  Quite pricey with RV's packed in like sardines, but with a beautiful view.  The weather was mostly horrible with fog, fog, and more fog.  But when the fog cleared it was lovely.

Did I mention fog?  Brady's family met me at the RV park and we walked down the street to attend the annual "FOG FESTIVAL"!!!!  Here are Michelle, Jaise, and Nick, with Rocky and Will in the wagon.
And Will actually drank that stuff!!

 Jaise had a blast!
Michelle had a "street massage"!  And Brady racked up "good hubby points" for this!!!
Jaise, Will and Brady standing by while Michelle gets massaged.

Sarah flew in from Louisiana and stayed with me in the RV for 10 days.  We did all the great touristy things all over San Francisco.
Lunch on ocean side deck at Taco Bell.  Watching the surfers in the freezing cold water.

There's Brady in his wet suit carrying the white surf board!

Playing tourist!!

We found a very talented artist on Pier 39.

Bubba's shoes and luggage were nailed down for a cute photo op!!  Followed by a great lunch!

The bridge!

Our picnic in Golden Gate Park enjoying music at the Bluegrass Festival.  Note: computer guru is making beautiful pictures in Will's coloring book!!

The music was great. Had a wonderful time!

First meal on my new grill, yummy!

The Wax Museum was enormous, don't miss it.
Had such a wonderful time in California.  Truly hated to say goodbye.
